Stone templating is the act of taking a measurement (template) of your countertop or surface so it can be cut and fit accurately from stone materials such as granite, quartz or marble. This is the most critical aspect to ensure you will end up with an exact fit, minimize waste, and match your vision.

Depending on the complexity and size of the project, templating normally takes 45 minutes to 2 hours for a standard kitchen or bath. Intricate designs might require additional time.

We need all cabinets installed, leveled and secured. The area needs to be cleaned out, and appliances (like sinks or hobs) need to be either at the site or have specifications available. We also need someone with decision-making power present to respond to questions.

We use advanced digital templating technology, used in some cases laser based, to measure, create the template, and make things more efficient. The digital templates are a translation to areas that have the exact specifications for foam and the cam system we use for fabrication.

We template and install granite, quartz, imitative marble, and engineered stone with variations in color and patterns.

Stone templating is the process of taking accurate measurements and doing a digital template of your countertop or location using digital tools. These tools include laser systems. Once we have your template, industry standards will allow us to fabricate your stone with confidence that it will fit perfectly in your home.

The costs of templating will depend on the size and complexity of your project. For this reason, we are happy to provide estimates on templating free of charge once you share plans with us or we make a field visit. Please contact us to get a detailed estimate for your project. We create templates for a wide range of natural and engineered stones, including granite, marble, and quartz. Each type of stone will offer different durability options and aesthetic options to meet your design choices.

Using laser templates, our digital templating technology can achieve accuracy within 1-3 millimeters, allowing us to eliminate guess work and offer the best installation of your countertops when fabricating.

You can clean your countertops with little more than mild soap and water, or you can purchase a stone safe cleaner. Depending on the type of natural stone or quartz you are working with, your stone may need to be sealed every 6-12 months, while quartz should not require any sealing. Please to avoid any harsh chemicals.

We utilize laser-based digital templating systems (e.g., Proliner or LT-2D3D) that provide sub-millimeter precision. These systems eliminate the potential for manual error, are capable of compensating for irregularities in walls and work seamlessly with CNC machines as a tool in the fabrication process.

We will employ 3D laser scanning to accurately measure any complex geometry. We then take that data and apply it to our software creating a precise template as well as making cuts for curved edges, waterfall designs or irregular angles.

Yes, we take a digital image of the slabs of stone when we are templating. We then work with you to ensure we align the veins that will line up at the seam. This ensures a seamless look with marble or quartzite as an example, creating a natural, cohesive look.

Yes, we will work with the supplier to template the design for the composite inlays. We use many digital templating tools to assist with aligning the stone and incorporating in the other materials we are templating. This will ensure a structural and aesthetic integrity in any way it is applied.

A 50% deposit is due upon signing our agreement to schedule your templating appointment. The final balance is payable upon completion of the installation. We accept payments through bank transfer, credit card, or cheque. If payment is late there will be an interest fee of 1.5% per month.

Included in our templating and installation service are the digital templating, material fabrication, delivery, and installation service by our qualified installers. Any other services like sink cutouts, edge profiles or support brackets will be noted in our quote provided to you. The removal of your current countertops is not included unless prior discussed and agreed upon.

If you have to cancel your project before templating, there will be a cancellation fee of £100 for our administrative cost. Unfortunately, there are no refunds following any templating or if we start any fabrication because there is a custom nature to the work. Deposits are not refundable but can be used for another project up to 6 months from the date of contract signing, subject to project approval.

We will try accommodate a change before we start fabrication, however, there will be an additional cost, depending on the changes made. We cannot accommodate any changes after we start fabrication because we custom cut materials. Please contact us immediately for alterations/changes.
